The first sentence of this story, from Pravda last week, is hard to resist: "Major-general of the reserve of the Russian Federal Custodial Service Boris Ratnikov tells that Russia and other countries work on making special devices that turn humans into zombies."

That's right: zombies. In the article Ratnikov, a former KGB officer, describes how both the U.S. and Soviet military researched and tested so-called "psychotronic weapons," which supposedly make their victims think they are hearing voices. The devices emit electromagnetic pulses that proponents say stimulate neural activity.

In other words, your nerves are shot.
